The Process

STEP 1: LET'S GET STARTED!

Get ready for one of the most exciting parts of your wedding planning! To get started, lets jump on the phone or meet in person for a free consultation to chat about your hopes and dreams for your wedding. Come prepared with any current wedding details that you have planned (Pinterest is a fabulous way to curate your ideas!). Wedding colors, venues, flowers, anything. If you don't have those plans sorted out yet, no worries. Once we chat about what you'd like, I will put together timing and an estimate.

STEP 2: SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE

Once you receive the initial estimate, we can work together to make sure it encompasses all you need within a budget you are comfortable with. Once we solidify that, I ask for a $500 deposit and a signed contract to secure you a spot on the schedule so we can get started with design work.

STEP 3: DOWN TO THE DETAILS

I will provide you with a questionnaire to fill out with all the details we will need to get started! Where is the wedding? What time does it start? How formal is the event? These answers will help me determine what type of wording you need on your invitation.

STEP 4: LET’S BEGIN!

My turn! I will start to gather inspiration, colors, and materials to start to bring your wedding suite to life based on our initial conversations. I will put together a mood board where we can align to the overall design direction of your suite.

STEP 5: Design process!

This is where the real fun begins! I start by designing different concepts of what your invitation can look like. For the first round of invitations, I like to get on the phone with couples to talk them through how it works, materials, colors, and printing techniques. During the process, I offer unlimited rounds of design to ensure you are as happy as possible with your final suite.

STEP 5: APPROVALS

Once we have aligned to the final design, I will send you a final design proof. This is where you, your fiancé, your parents, wedding planners (or anyone really!) can get a last look at all the details and spellings to make sure everything is PERFECT. Once we have final approval, we move into production.

STEP 6: LET THE PRINTING BEGIN

Once you approve your proof, the designs get sent to the printer. Production takes 5 weeks. If any changes occur during this process, it will require a fee.

STEP 6: TA-DA!

Once everything is printed, you have two options. Either you can stuff your envelopes yourself to send out (can be a fun wine night activity), or I can do it myself. If you’d like for me to do it, there is an additional fee.

“My husband and I absolutely loved our save the dates and wedding invitation suite by Kelly. Not only was the finishing product beautiful and perfect, but the process was so easy and fun. Kelly really takes the time to brainstorm design ideas based on your specific vision, colors, etc. She provides several different design options to choose from/modify and goes through multiple rounds of edits to make sure it is exactly the way you want it. Being very detail oriented myself, I truly value working with someone who is the same.”

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I SEND OUT SAVE THE DATES?

Save the dates should be sent out 8-10 months before your wedding.
If you're having a destination wedding, it is ideal to send out your Save the Dates 10-12 months in advance.

...AND THE WEDDING INVITATIONS?

Wedding invitations should be sent out 8-10 weeks before your wedding.
However, I almost typically shoot for that 10 week window to be safe.
If you're having a destination wedding, it is ideal to send out your invitations 3 months in advance.

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST?

Every wedding and every budget is different. If you have a budget you'd like to stick to, let me know and I'll be sure to only provide options in your range. For wedding invitations, my base pricing starts at $1,700. For custom invitation suites, the average range is around $1,700 to $4,000.

WHAT TYPE OF PRINTING TECHNIQUES CAN WE DO?

We can do anything (and a combination of many)! All of these vary in pricing.
Digital/Flat Printing: flat printing process, and allows for printing multiple colors at one time.
Foil press: a process that adds high shine to your invitations by using metallic foils.
Thermography: also called raised print, a process that adds dimension to your invitations.
Letterpress: a process where ink is applied to a raised plate of the design, and then pressed into the paper.
